I’m not one to usually set strong resolutions but this year I felt inclined to do so. I have so many goals, dreams + aspirations for 2020 & the years to come. I want to make reasonable goals that will make an impact on my life. Resolutions get a bad rap because typically they’re not kept past a month of two. I intend to keep all my goals & make it a positive, productive filled year! Writing them here for you to see will hopefully help hold me accountable!
+ Wake up earlier, consistently. It’s safe to say that I am someone who needs 8 or more hours of sleep a night to be a fully functioning human the next day. I’m not a night owl at all, come 9pm it’s lights out for me. I used to wake up early everyday (and make it to the gym occasionally at 6am)… now I wake up at 6:40 and have to LEAVE my house at 7am to go to work. I’m so rushed, tired & unorganized. I want to make a habit of giving myself an entire hour and establish a healthy morning routine. No snoozing the alarm, coffee with the sunrise, plan out what I’m going to wear, do my hair etc. Let’s see if I can tackle this!
+ Drink more water & no more alcohol. Gosh, this one is going to be tough. I typically drink enough water daily but you can always use more! I want to make sure to stay hydrated. Ricky & I are going into 2020 with the intention of not drinking for the entire year. This may sound easy to some of you or very unrealistic to some of you BUT I truly think we can do it. We get into a habit of drinking way to often socially. We want to focus on our health + enjoying activities without always having to base it around alcohol.
+ Make a conscious effort to extend kindness, patience & positivity. This one is more of a trait that I want to continue working on. I’ve consciously been making an effort to evaluate the words I say, before I say them. Keeping quiet when necessary and giving a compliment when it comes into my mind. A positive attitude towards life is MAJOR. Changing how I view life & looking for the good in all situations has made such a difference for me personally. It’s something I have to work on daily & will continue to do.
+ Read more books. I read a ton of books in 2019 and I want to keep up with that. A book a month. Reading is such a calm outlet for me. I tend to put so much on my plate, way more than I can handle on my own therefor I get stressed and overwhelmed so easily. I have a hard time shutting off work & focusing on other things. Books are something that helps me unwind & relax yet usually I don’t sit down to read one because I have 1 million other things on my mind. I’m going to make sure I learn to set other things aside and clear my head with books.
+ Workout. This is honestly one that I think may be the hardest for me. Not because I’m lazy or totally out of shape but because of the time management issue that I need to work on. I always seem to have other tasks on my mind that I prioritize over making time for the gym. Even if I can get in 2-3 workouts a week, I’ll be happy with that.
+ Take my vitamins. Along with all my other goals of working on my health this year, I want to take my vitamins consistently. I need to find out which ones are essential for me & take them religiously.
+ Stay true to myself & to you. Sounds so cliche but this is another big one. It’s safe to say that being influenced is just a part of today’s world but as long as I am blogging & sharing my life with all of you, I want to make sure I stay true to my style, my values & my content. It’s a 100% priority to me to keep the trust of all of you by only working with brands that I truly believe in + stay authentic to myself & my brand.
+ Grow my family. Ahhh this is my biggest, happiest, scariest dream for 2020. Ricky and I want to have a baby so badly! 2019 was a hell of a ride for us. We went through some really, really scary times with Ricky’s health, struggled financially, hated where we lived & went through some sh!t. We also had one of the best years yet! We moved to a house we absolutely love, Ricky changed his career path, my blogging started to bloom & we truly feel like we are finally adulting, growing & so freaking excited for our future.
